BRUIT DE FOND aims to shed a new light on Calvi On The Rocks, our music festival. Since twenty years now, Calvi has become more than a town that hosts a giant beach party: it is a place for retreat, discovery and healing, a cultural pillar inside of our company that spreads year after year.

It was about time to explore this spirit deeper, to offer a side view on the festival, where the music is nothing more than a background noise, un BRUIT DE FOND that has the power to slightly blur the boundaries between visible and invisible. Every summer, a different artist will be asked to expand our own vision of Calvi, asking fundamental questions related to photography in an increasingly visually saturated world.

BRUIT DE FOND as a photographic residency, also represents a new side project for UZIK, allowing us to create a collective highlight around photography, an in-house passion put in the service of our clients all year long.

Christopher has been winner of the 2022 Picto Prize and was a finalist at the 37th Festival de Hyères. His new body of work, produced in a limited time during his summer exploration of the Calvi bay, questions the possibility of subjectivity into photography. Through traditional genres such as portraits, still life and landscape, he plays constantly with limits of perception, combining intimacy and social observations.

This first edition, with Christopher Barraja's distinct approach, has set the foundations for the residency's future editions, capturing the essence of Calvi while expanding the aura of the festival.
